Blueberry scones

I had a really great dream last night that Lea and I were hanging out and she bought us a blueberry scone, we sat at a little cafe table snacking on the scone and discussing my pregnancy and how excited we were for Isla to come.  I was exactly as pregnant in my dream as I am in real life, it made me feel like I was actually able to see Lea from heaven last night.

I miss you so much, Isla is missing out on a terrific Grandma.. but I will carry on your memories for her!

Mongram 'I'

Look at this CUTE vintage scrolly letter I that I just scooped up on
clearance, it's perfect for the wall with the embroidery hoops!!

Nursery Ideas!!

I've been working in my mind on Isla's nursery and I have made the basic purchases and came up with a design that I absolutely love!  I attached pictures of baby Isla's quilt, the floral bins and the ikea shelf that the bins will go in!  I'm thinking we'll do 4 bins and stagger them in the shelf leaving some open spaces as well for books and what not!

We're choosing the color by Benjamin Moore called "Robin's Egg Blue" #618 as the wall color
We bought a used Jenny Lind style crib from craigstlist for $65 and we plan to refinish it in a cheery yellow color!
We also purchased some off-white vintagey looking dressers from craigstlist again for a great steal of $80 for both, one tall and one waist high where I am adding some pale pink pulls in various styles similar to the pictures below (but much cooler!)  some of mine are in rose shapes, some look like blown glass with bubbles.. they are very neat!  Hobby Lobby ofcourse during one of their 50% off sales!
I found the cutest mellow yellow dachshund lamp for her bedroom that will go ontop of the Ikea shelf, the brightness in the picture is more than the actual lamp.. it's so cute and gives off a perfect glow for her room!

I have also purchased a few embroidery hoops and some neat fabrics that will go well with her room to hang on the wall by her crib with her Monogram "I", the patterns I chose have a vintage feel to them as well!  All purchased from Hobby Lobby for less than $5!  What a steal!  The picture I am attaching is just of embroidery hoops to give an idea of what I'm doing!

Now to do the big work and rip up the old carpet, replace the closet doors, paint, etc etc! Our summer is already getting so busy so I'm hoping that we can start tackling this stuff soon but it'll be tough!

I can't wait to get started and take some pics of the finished project!   I hope this all looks as good in person as I have it set in my mind!!!!!

Baby News!!!

I've decided what a better way to start off my new blog but to talk about this beautiful baby we're having!!  Aaron and I found out the sex of our baby at our last doctor appt which was May 13th and it's a GIRL!!   We're naming her Isla Ann.  We're so excited to use Ann as her middle name because that was Aaron's Mother's middle name (but her's was spelled with an 'e' at the end), my Mother's middle name, one of my Great Aunt's first names on my Dad's side of the family and my own middle name.  It's so neat to be able to keep a name so beautiful in our family, maybe we can even be lucky enough to carry it further!  Isla is due on Sept 25th, 2010 which is just one day shy of our One Year wedding anniversary!  What an exceptional gift, we're just so giddy with excitement!
